About this postcard

A narrow, cobbled street in the old Montmartre quarter of Paris, lined with tall shuttered houses, with the great white dome and campanile of the Sacré-Cœur basilica rising at the end of the view. The Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur was built on the butte Montmartre between 1875 and 1914, and its Romano-Byzantine silhouette became the defining landmark of the hilltop artists' district shown here.

10/5/37 Hello folks — Hardly have time to sleep, much less to write. This trip has been no disap- pointment as far as a good time is con- cerned. Never had so much fun in my life. Got in at 6, this a.m. A party of us were out seeing night life in Paris, + I've seen quite a bit of that. Will have so much to tell you when I get back. Leaving for Switzerland + Italy 10/7 until 10/28 - then back here + on to England (unless I change my plans). How is my darling "boy friend"? I miss him. Best regards — Claire
