Old North Bridge, Concord, Massachusetts, 1903

About this postcard

A rustic wooden bridge with simple railings spans the Concord River, framed by dense trees on both banks, printed as a halftone view titled "Old North Bridge Concord." The site is famous as the spot where colonial militia and British regulars exchanged fire on April 19, 1775, opening the American Revolutionary War; the bridge shown is a later reconstruction of the original 1775 crossing. The card was issued by Concord photographer J. W. Craig and dated 1903 on the front.
