About this postcard

The view shows the village of Otta in Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, with houses and a large white building clustered along the water. A bridge crosses the water, and a steep, dark mountain rises behind the settlement. Otta lies at a junction of valley routes in Gudbrandsdalen, a long farming and travel corridor between Oslo and Trondheim, and by the early 1930s it was a stop on the Dovre Line. A traveler writing to relatives in Lititz, Pennsylvania, had just arrived from Bergen and reported a fine trip.
