Otta village and mountain, Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, 1935

About this postcard

The view shows the village of Otta in Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, with houses and a large white building clustered along the water. A bridge crosses the water, and a steep, dark mountain rises behind the settlement. Otta lies at a junction of valley routes in Gudbrandsdalen, a long farming and travel corridor between Oslo and Trondheim, and by the 1930s it was a stop on the Dovre Line. The scene is quiet, with the village edge set against the mountain.
