Pêcheurs au Phare, Biarritz, France, 1911

About this postcard

Men stand along a curved stone breakwater at Biarritz, fishing with long rods as heavy surf breaks against the rocks. The lighthouse and town buildings are visible behind them. By 1911 Biarritz was a well-established resort on the Basque coast, and the scene shows the shore's working life against the scenery that drew visitors.
