Pacific Coast Line of Redwood Highway, California, circa 1930

About this postcard
The view looks along the Pacific shore, where surf breaks over rocky sea stacks and a curving sandy cove. A steep, wooded bluff rises on the right, and the coastline recedes into the distance at left. The caption places the scene on the Pacific Coast line of the Redwood Highway, the motor route through northern California's redwood country. Completed in the early 1920s and later signed as US 101, the highway was marketed to auto tourists, and coastal views like this one served as souvenirs of the drive.
