A wide panoramic view over deeply eroded badlands, with banded ridges of red, orange, ochre and blue-green rock receding to a flat horizon beneath a pale turquoise sky. The vivid, slightly heightened coloring and crosshatched texture are typical of American linen-era view cards of the 1930s–1940s, which often depicted Western badland and desert scenery such as the Painted Desert of Arizona or the South Dakota Badlands. No caption or imprint survives on the front to fix the exact locality.
Linen (crosshatch) texture overall; narrow white margin at edges; small nick at upper left corner; no printed caption or publisher line on front.
No postmark. Linen texture; divided back; white border; light edge wear/foxing.
