A view across a lagoon toward the Palace of Fine Arts, its great yellow-domed rotunda flanked by curving colonnades and flower beds along the water. The Palace was designed by architect Bernard Maybeck as the centerpiece of the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition, and its Roman ruins motif made it the fair's most beloved structure. It survived the fair's demolition and later became part of the Marina District's landscape, shown here in a typical 1930s linen-texture view.
Linen-textured stock with a white border; small printed '3' at upper right and card number '67455' at lower right.
No postmark; unused card with no handwriting. Linen-textured white-border view card; Tichnor 'Quality Views' imprint (Reg. U.S. Pat. Off.) and J. K. Piggott Co. publisher line; stamp box 'PLACE ONE CENT STAMP HERE / MADE IN U.S.A'. Clean, slight edge wear.
