About this postcard

A long white colonnade and pergola, the pagoda, stretch across a paved terrace in Overton Park, with a red-roofed pavilion at left flying American flags. Beds of tulips and shaped plantings fill the foreground lawn. The printed caption calls Overton Park "Most beautiful of thirty-two Memphis parks" and notes its nine-hole golf course, Doughboy Memorial Statue, and Brooks Memorial Art Gallery. Overton Park, established in 1901, was one of Memphis's largest parks. The Brooks Memorial Art Gallery and a Doughboy memorial to local World War I servicemen were among its attractions.
