About this postcard

The scene centers on a long, red-roofed pavilion with an arched entrance, set among formal flower beds and a pond where fountains play. An American flag flies above, and an early automobile is parked in front. Garfield Park, on Chicago's West Side, was laid out in the nineteenth century and became known for its conservatory, lagoons, and formal gardens.
