About this postcard

The Siamese Twins, a pair of red sandstone formations in Garden of the Gods, leave a narrow window that frames Pikes Peak across a valley of scattered piñon-juniper woodland. Darker ridges and the mountain's pale, rounded summit sit under a blue sky. Garden of the Gods is a city park on the west side of Colorado Springs, known for its red-rock formations, and Pikes Peak has long been the landmark that draws travelers to the Front Range. The message places the sender in Colorado Springs in late July 1971, with a zoo visit planned.
