About this postcard
A six-story masonry office block with rows of rectangular windows and storefronts at street level, seen from across the street with a few early automobiles and a horse-drawn wagon at the curb. The card identifies it as the Pioneer Telephone and Telegraph Co. Building in Oklahoma City, and the sender's note calls it "a beautiful Bldg. constructed of white marble." Pioneer Telephone & Telegraph was one of the main independent telephone companies serving Oklahoma and the surrounding region before it was absorbed into the Bell system. Its headquarters stood as a downtown landmark in the young state capital.
