Pittsburg Bank for Savings at night, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, circa 1935

Card type
Linen

About this postcard

Night view of the tall, multi-story Pittsburg Bank for Savings building, its many windows glowing with warm light against a dark, cloud-streaked sky with a full moon. Lower commercial blocks flank it, including a building at the left lettered "DURAND'S" with arched storefront openings, and a few small figures stand on the sidewalk at the corner. The scene is rendered in the colored, textured style typical of mid-1930s American view cards, when nighttime city views were a popular novelty subject.
