About this postcard
A studio-style outdoor portrait of a young woman and a young man posed on a lawn before a frame house and bare trees. The woman stands in a checked, high-collared bodice and long button-front skirt, one hand resting on the back of the chair where the man sits in a dark suit and light shirt. The clothing — the pigeon-breast blouse, high collar and buttoned skirt — is characteristic of American everyday dress around 1905–1915, and the plain setting suggests a family or courtship photograph taken at home rather than in a studio.
