About this postcard
A hand-tinted view looks across a still pond or river bend, framed by low flowering shrubs and dark evergreen woods, toward the long blue profile of the Presidential Range in New Hampshire's White Mountains. The Presidential Range is the highest group in the northeastern United States, crowned by Mount Washington at 6,288 feet, and was a favorite subject of White Mountain resort photography and view cards in the early 20th century. The sender notes that the range, including Mount Washington, is visible from where she is staying on clear days.
