A tree-lined residential street, Prospect Avenue, stretches into the distance beneath a sunset sky, with a large stone mansion featuring a corner turret and gabled roofline dominating the right foreground. Prospect Avenue on Milwaukee's east side was the city's premier mansion row in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, lined with the homes of brewers, bankers, and industrialists facing Lake Michigan. The card's tinted sky and red caption are typical of German-printed view cards of the period.
White border along the bottom edge with the caption printed in red; card number 3088 in red at lower right. Slight wear at corners.
