A view looks down Pryor Street in downtown Atlanta, with tall brick commercial blocks lining both sides, pedestrians on the sidewalks, and a horse-drawn wagon and carriage in the unpaved street. In the early 1900s Pryor Street was part of Atlanta's busy commercial district, where wholesale houses, stores, and offices served a city still tied closely to the railroad. The mix of foot traffic and horse-drawn vehicles reflects downtown street life before automobiles became common.
Thin white margin at edges; small cursive artist signature (Charles Flower) printed in the lower right of the picture; light surface speckling and slight corner wear. Postmark: ATLANTA GA. DEC 1 8-AM 1905 (circular cancel); a second receiving cancel reads AMESBURY MASS. DEC 3 1905. Undivided back with "THE ADDRESS TO BE WRITTEN ON THIS SIDE", 2¢ Washington adhesive stamp, Tuck Postcard Series No. 2218 imprint with British royal arms. Light edge/corner wear, slight soiling.
