About this postcard

The Public Library in Nebraska City, Nebraska, stands behind a dense row of shade trees, its brick or stone facade and gabled entrance partly screened from the street. Built in 1896 and later enlarged and improved, the library occupied the Senior High School campus and served high school students along with the town's community readers. The shared campus setting put the library within reach of both students and townspeople in this southeastern Nebraska river town.
