About this postcard

The card shows Racine's public library, a stone Beaux-Arts building with a tall arched entrance, rusticated base and a balustraded roofline, standing behind a lawn with young shade trees; a red brick building with a porch is visible at the right. Racine's library was one of the many Carnegie-funded public libraries erected in American cities in the early 20th century, and this view was issued by Milwaukee publisher F. C. Kropp as a tinted, white-bordered view card. The scene is otherwise a plain street-side architectural view with no figures.
