Punch Bowl waterfall, Eagle Creek, OR, circa 1930

Card type
Linen

About this postcard

The view looks into the Punch Bowl, a deep pool at the base of a waterfall on Eagle Creek, where water spills over a dark rock lip into the basin. Mossy rock walls and dense evergreen forest crowd the stream. Eagle Creek is a tributary of the Columbia River in the gorge, and its waterfalls were among the scenic attractions that drew motorists along the Columbia River Highway in the early auto age.
