A low brick meeting house with a steep, dark gabled roof and a small louvered vent in the gable stands among trees, its walls heavily draped in ivy and its white-trimmed windows flanked by dark shutters. The card names it the Quaker Memorial Church of Lynchburg, Virginia. The building recalls the South River Friends meeting house, the 18th-century Quaker meeting ground that became the nucleus of the later Quaker Memorial congregation in the city.
