Red brick farmhouse with flower beds and windmill, circa 1955

About this postcard

A red brick farmhouse with white trim stands beside a long, low white poultry or laying house, with a tall steel windmill tower rising between them. In the foreground a broad bed of red cockscomb and yellow marigolds borders a paved road that curves off to the right past shade trees. The scene is a typical mid-century American farmstead view, of the kind sold as scenic chrome postcards in the 1950s and 1960s.
