About this postcard

The card shows a white Tudor-revival house with a steep dark roof set behind a broad lawn, shrubs and tall trees, with a circular inset portrait of the actor Errol Flynn at the right. Flynn (1909–1959), born in Tasmania, was one of Hollywood's leading swashbuckling stars of the 1930s and 1940s in films such as Captain Blood and The Adventures of Robin Hood, and views of stars' homes were a popular souvenir genre. The caption names the house as his Beverly Hills residence, and the 'From Kodachrome' imprint reflects the linen-era practice of coloring cards from color transparencies.
