About this postcard

Two rhinoceroses stand in a rocky enclosure at the Detroit Zoological Park, with a tree trunk in the foreground. The printed caption calls the rhinoceros "Nature's battle tank," a holdover from prehistoric days, and notes that a pair is rare in captivity. The Detroit Zoological Park opened in 1928 and became a popular outing for Detroit families.
