The half-timbered Ring O' Bells Hotel stands on a curving cobbled lane in West Kirby's Old Village, with trees and low stone walls around it. The Old Village is the historic core of this Wirral town, grouped around St Bridget's Church, and its inns and cottages predate West Kirby's growth as a residential resort after the railway arrived in the 19th century. Kitty S.'s note describes a vacation with two days at West Kirby and a week in Paris, including visits to the Eiffel Tower and the opera.
