About this postcard
Rivermont Avenue stretches away beneath a canopy of trees, with a grassy parkway and wide sidewalk bordering a row of brick and stucco houses. The houses have red tile roofs, porches, and striped awnings, and a streetcar approaches along the tracks at left. The avenue developed as one of Lynchburg's premier residential streets and was served by electric trolley lines linking the neighborhood with downtown. The sender's note mentions trying to find a card of R. M. W. C., likely Randolph-Macon Woman's College, and reports that the college was full for the current and following year and already taking bookings for 1925, prompting the recipient to make arrangements for her daughters. The remark gives a small view of the college's standing in Lynchburg.
