About this postcard

A view north along Robinson Street in Oklahoma City, with tall commercial blocks lining both sides of the street and 1920s automobiles and pedestrians filling the roadway. The ornate white terra-cotta facade with pinnacled turrets on the right and the dark office block on the left frame a receding perspective toward a distant tower. Robinson Avenue was Oklahoma City's principal downtown business street in the early twentieth century, lined with department stores, banks and office buildings during the oil-boom years.
