Waves break in white spray against a rocky, tree-topped shore of Lake Champlain, with open water stretching to a low horizon under a pale pink-and-blue sky. The view is near Burlington, Vermont, then the lake's principal city and a rail and steamboat terminus. Lake Champlain, the long narrow lake between Vermont and New York that extends into Quebec, was a common scenic subject for early twentieth-century postcards.
Narrow white border; light corner and edge wear, small chip at lower left; printed caption in red.
No postmark; unused card. Divided-back "POST CARD" with Hugh C. Leighton Co. imprint, "Made in Germany", and card number 30293; light toning and edge wear.
