A view of large, layered limestone ledges sloping into the blue water of Lake Erie, with dense green trees growing along the top of the rock shelf. The card's own caption places the scene on the rocky shore of Ohio's Lake Erie Vacationland, the lake's western basin shoreline, where glacial-cut limestone bedrock forms low cliffs and wave-washed shelves along the water's edge. Such shore scenery was a staple of mid-century vacation advertising for the Sandusky and Marblehead area.
