About this postcard

The Hotel Lincoln's roof garden is shown from under a pergola, with vines climbing the columns and potted plants set along the steps. The view opens over a lawn and trellis toward the Seattle skyline, where a domed building stands on the horizon. Rooftop gardens gave early 20th-century hotel guests a planted place to take the air above the city.

Dearest Lucy: - Thank you so much for the card. It surely looked good to me. How fine to have had Edith home Xmas. I had a very happy Xmas and am back in the midst of work. We have had the grandest snow storm more snow than they have had in 15 years. Had a great many in Seattle during the holidays but the vacation passed all too soon With much love Paula
