About this postcard

A stone-lined well or spring is set into a terraced bank, with a shallow stone basin in the foreground and a railing and dense trees above. The view is in the grounds of Blenheim Palace, the Oxfordshire estate of the Dukes of Marlborough near Woodstock. The name Rosamund's Well recalls Fair Rosamund, the twelfth-century mistress of Henry II associated with Woodstock.
