Rural farm shed among trees, circa 1910

Card type
Real photo

About this postcard

A small board-and-batten outbuilding with a gabled roof stands behind a rough fence among bare and leafy trees. A frame building with a chimney appears at the right, and an open field fills the foreground. The image is heavily blurred and streaked, and no sign, caption, or landmark identifies the farm or its location. Small outbuildings like this were standard equipment on American farms of the era, framed from rough-sawn lumber and used for tool storage, a springhouse, or a smokehouse. The view is an ordinary working farm scene rather than a posed promotional picture.

NotesWhite border around a black-and-white photographic image; heavy blur/streaking and a dark vertical smear at left, likely from the negative or processing rather than the print surface. No printed text on front. No postmark, address, or message — blank divided-back real-photo card. Divided back with a large "POST CARD" heading and "CORRESPONDENCE" / "NAME AND ADDRESS" column headings; the stamp box carries "PLACE POSTAGE" / "STAMP HERE" instructions along with the Cyko photographic paper brand logo. Undated, likely 1910s–1930s. Front is a matte/deckle-edge sepia real-photo print with white border; light edge wear and foxing on the back.
