The San Francisco Motel is a two-story lavender and white motor court with red-tile trim, next to a taller brick apartment building with green fire escapes. Several period cars are parked along the curb.
Its Lombard Street address, marked as U.S. 101, put it on a main highway into San Francisco. The motel advertised approvals from the California State Auto Association, Auto Club of Southern California, and Redwood Empire Association, a common mid-century signal to touring drivers.
Linen-textured stock with visible crosshatch grain; no white border; AAA diamond approval emblem printed in sky.
No postmark; card is unmailed. Divided-back linen-texture card, Colourpicture publication (Boston). Handwritten date 'Sunday July 19' at top left; dealer/price mark '#59' in pencil at lower right. No stamp, no address.
