A broad sandy or gravel clearing curves through low vegetation, with a forested hill rising behind and an open field to the left. A dark evergreen stands in the right foreground. The view is identified as Castine, Maine, a town on a peninsula in Penobscot Bay. By the early 1900s Castine was known as a summer colony, and the surrounding pine woods and rocky coastal ground fit that setting.
Sepia-toned real photo print; no printed caption or border visible; light surface speckling.
No postmark or stamp present; card unused. AZO stamp box (triangles up top, down bottom) dates the card 1904โ1918. Handwritten annotation at top edge; light soiling/toning on cream stock.
