Santa Claus and children at a window, New Bedford, MA, 1906

About this postcard

A color lithograph Christmas greeting showing Santa Claus in a red hood and coat, white beard, holding a blue-mittened finger to his lips in a hushing gesture while a sack of toys — a doll in a bonnet and a horn — rides on his shoulder. Above him, three children's faces (two girls with hair ribbons and a boy) peek over a window ledge beneath a garland of holly with red berries. The card carries the imprint of the Ullman Manufacturing Company of New York, a prolific producer of chromolithographed holiday postcards in the early 1900s.
