School furniture quotation inquiry form

About this postcard
The card is a printed business reply form, not a picture view: a pre-addressed inquiry slip on which a school board secretary could check off the furniture wanted and request printed matter and prices from a manufacturer. The checklist covers tubular steel and cast iron combination desks, adjustable box desks and chairs, universal movable desks, fixed auditorium seating, folding chairs, and teachers' desks and chairs, with blanks for the buyer's name, post office, district, county, state, expected purchase date, and the schedule and location of board meetings. Such forms were commonly enclosed with school-supply catalogs of the early twentieth century, when steel and cast-iron school furniture was replacing wooden desks.
