About this postcard

A color view of the School of Medicine building at the University of Virginia, a long red-brick structure with a white-columned portico and a green roof, set behind lawns and trees. The university's medical school traces to the founding of the institution by Thomas Jefferson in 1819, and its hospital and medical buildings expanded substantially in the early twentieth century. The card's linen-era coloring and white border date it to the mid-twentieth century.
