About this postcard

A row of seagulls perches along the railing of a rustic wooden pier built on log cribs, extending into calm water. Wooded shoreline and low hills lie in the distance under a blank sky. Along the Maine coast, harbors like Boothbay Harbor supported fishing and summer resort trade in the early 20th century, and gulls were constant companions around wharves and fish houses.
