About this postcard
A vast congregation fills the interior of the Great Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, facing the towering pipe organ at the rear of the hall, whose central arch bears a large white star and the word "UTAH" between two American flags. The Tabernacle, completed in 1867 on Temple Square, was built as a domed, unsupported-span auditorium seating several thousand and is famed for its acoustics and its great organ; it long served as the home of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and as the setting for large Latter-day Saint conferences.
