About this postcard
A large shingle-clad house with a conical corner turret, gabled dormers, and a broad wraparound porch with turned balusters. The name "PENTAGORA" is painted across the upper facade. A utility pole and wires cross the foreground, with a tree at left and a neighboring house at right. Boothbay Harbor, Maine, the card's publisher location, was a summer resort on the coast. The shingle style was widely used for late 19th-century seaside houses in New England, and the painted name gives this one a distinct identity.
