About this postcard

An elevated view looks down over the long rows of shuffleboard courts beside Mirror Lake in St. Petersburg, Florida. Red-and-white striped shelters, palms and shrubbery, parked automobiles, and an American flag at the left fill out the scene. The printed caption calls the view "Overlooking Shuffleboard Courts, Mirror Lake" and bills St. Petersburg as "The Sunshine City." Mirror Lake Park, in the heart of downtown, was a center of the city's nationally famous shuffleboard culture, which drew thousands of winter visitors each season from the 1920s onward.
