About this postcard

The Silver Dollar Bar in the Wort Hotel, Jackson, Wyoming: a long curved counter faced with small light-colored tiles and lined with pale stools, back-bar shelving holding bottles and glassware beneath a frieze of diamonds and stylized figures, and a circular illuminated panel under a rounded canopy overhead. Leather-upholstered chairs and a small round table fill the foreground. The caption points to the 2,032 silver dollars imbedded in the bar top, the feature that named the room, and advertises entertainment and dancing nightly. Jackson Hole in 1950 was dude-ranch and ski country, and a hotel bar with a dance floor drew both visitors and townspeople. The sender's note, "Here it finally is," reads like a card long promised to someone back in Missouri.
