About this postcard

A high vantage looks across a forested Virginia mountain whose slopes are cut by the pale ribbon of the Skyline Drive, with a hairpin bend of road and a few buildings in the valley below; the card names the peak as Mary's Rock. Mary's Rock is a prominent summit in Shenandoah National Park, and the Skyline Drive, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, runs along the crest of the Blue Ridge for over a hundred miles. Panorama, in Page County near Luray, was a small settlement at the foot of the mountain.
