About this postcard

A high vantage looks down on a winding white road looping through open pasture at the foot of a densely wooded mountain, with a few small buildings and a red-roofed structure at the lower right. The printed caption identifies the road as Skyline Drive and the peak as Mary's Rock, near the hamlet of Panorama in Page County, Virginia. Skyline Drive, the scenic ridge road through Shenandoah National Park, was built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps and New Deal labor, and Mary's Rock (Stony Man area) is one of its best-known overlooks in the central section of the park.
