About this postcard
A jagged, snow-streaked peak rises behind a dark rocky ridge, with a snowfield or small glacier spilling down at the left. Evergreen trees and brush frame the right foreground beneath a soft drift of cloud. The card names no location, so the scene reads as a generic Alpine or western mountain view of the kind printed in Europe and sold widely during the postcard boom. Cora wrote from Deer Creek, Oklahoma, on March 31 to say they would be at home the last of the week and would look for Jessie on Friday or Saturday, a quick note of the sort rural families used to arrange a visit. The card traveled to Mrs. J. M. Kotchavar in nearby Blackwell.
