About this postcard
A painted diorama scene shows Snow White standing on a rocky ledge above a wooden walkway where the seven dwarfs, in pointed caps and colorful tunics, file along a railing; white birds, rabbits and geese fill the surrounding garden setting. The card labels the display as part of Fairyland Caverns at Rock City Gardens on Lookout Mountain. Rock City, developed from the 1920s by Garnet and Frieda Carter, became famous for its rock formations, panoramic views and the folk-art dioramas installed in its caverns, and its advertising was painted on barn roofs across the South.
