A bronze figure of a woman, her right arm raised, sits enthroned on a tall stone pedestal inscribed "IN MEMORIAM" with a row of memorial wreaths below, set before a large columned civic building with striped awnings in its windows. The card names it as the Soldiers' Monument of Jersey City, New Jersey, a Civil War memorial. Such monuments were commonly erected in the decades after the war on courthouse and city hall grounds, and this one stands in the city's civic center.
Black-and-white halftone print with a wide white border at right carrying the caption; publisher imprint printed vertically along the lower right edge. Light edge and corner wear.
No postmark. Undivided back with ornate "Post Card" heading, "THIS SIDE FOR THE ADDRESS", and stamp box "PLACE STAMP HERE / DOMESTIC ONE CENT / FOREIGN TWO CENTS" — undivided-back era, c. 1901–1907. Blank: no address, no message. Light soiling and corner wear; front is a black-and-white halftone with no white border.
