Live oaks draped with long veils of Spanish moss arch over a lawn, azaleas in bloom, and a small white-columned garden house reflected in a pond at Middleton Gardens. Middleton Place, begun in the 1740s by Henry Middleton on the Ashley River, is a National Historic Landmark noted for its formal landscaped gardens and its survival through the Civil War. The hanging Spanish moss and spring azaleas shown here are hallmarks of the South Carolina lowcountry landscape.
Linen-textured stock with a bright yellow border and angled corner panels; number 14 printed at the end of the caption. Light corner wear.
