The interior of St. Francis Chapel at the Mission Inn in Riverside, California, centers on a wood-carved, gilded altar brought from Mexico. Dark wooden pews face the altar beneath hanging lamps, and Tiffany stained glass and mosaics decorate the walls. The Mission Inn, a Mission Revival hotel that grew from an adobe boarding house, added the chapel in the early 1930s; it was used for weddings and held religious art collected by the hotel's owners.
