About this postcard

A tinted view of St. Luke's Methodist Episcopal Church, South, in Oklahoma City โ€” a large neoclassical brick and stone building with a columned portico, pediment, balustraded terrace and a prominent ribbed dome crowned by a small lantern. The congregation was organized in the early years of the city's boom, and the imposing classical edifice shown here reflected the ambitions of a growing downtown congregation in the pre-World War I era. The card was published locally by H.X. Clarke of Oklahoma City.
